Is there a baby yet?
My wife is due next Sunday. I have been fielding a lot of questions, usually phrased, “Is there a baby yet?” My response is “yes, there has been a baby for the last 39 weeks or so”. I know what people are asking, but if you think about it, the words are not well chosen. If we are truly believe that a baby is a baby rather in utero or ex utero, then we should not be asking if there is a baby. This may seem very trite, but when we speak how we believe and try to live out our faith in everything we do, then it will have a huge impact on the world around us. Let’s always think about what we say, how we say it and why we say it.
